You may be wondering – what is Ultherapy? Ultherapy is an FDA-cleared non-surgical ultrasound treatment that uses your body’s natural collagen regeneration process to gradually and carefully lift sagging skin on the neck, eyebrow, and beneath the chin and also smooth wrinkles and lines on the cleavage, also known as your décolletage. There is no downtime after an Ultherapy treatment (which typically takes 60 to 90 minutes for face and neck and 30 minutes for chest) and there are no post treatment measures. Now that you know what Ultherapy is, in this post, we will answer a few frequently asked questions.

Does Ultherapy have any side effects?

Some patients experience redness, but that typically goes away within a few hours. Others may notice limited swelling or tenderness – these effects are temporary. Very few people experience temporary numbness or bruising on small areas of treated skin. Your medical professional will go over any possible effects with you before the treatment.

When are results noticeable and how long do they last?

Some patients notice results right away, but typical there will be improvement in skin tightness over two to three months. The longevity of the results varies person to person because the treatment works to stimulate your own body’s collagen production.

Do I need multiple treatments?

In general, patients only need one Ultherapy treatment. But again, this varies from person to person depending on the body’s response to the ultrasound and also the body’s ability to build collagen. Skin also does age, so some patients get multiple treatments to slow the physical effects of the aging process.
