Light Therapy

Light therapy is often used to treat patients with varying levels of psoriasis symptoms. Sunlight and artificial ultraviolet (UV) light are helpful when treating psoriasis, because they slow the rapid growth of skin cells and skin shedding. Patients whose psoriasis affects much of their skin can really benefit from full-body exposure to artificial UV lighting. Light therapy can also work well when used in conjunction with medications that work to increase photosensitivity.
