MOHS Micrographic Surgery

MOHS micrographic surgery is an effective and specialized method of removing skin cancer. Mohs differs from other skin cancer removal methods because it allows for instant and complete microscopic examination of removed cancerous cells, which means all of the “roots” of the cancer can be completely eliminated. Because of this, Mohs surgery has been acknowledged as the skin cancer treatment with the greatest reported cure rate.

Physicians who perform Mohs surgery have specialized skills in dermatologic surgery, dermatology, and dermatopathology. Mohs surgeons are required to be supported by well-trained nursing and medical assisting staff and have the required surgical and laboratory facilities.
