CoolSculpting is a revolutionary new method of weight loss that can help people lose those extra pounds of fat that seem immune to diet and exercise. This non-invasive tool for weight loss uses controlled cooling to eliminate fat cells. It is a safe and effective treatment that comes with few risks or side effects, especially when compared to other weight loss treatments that promise similar results.
After CoolSculpting, the body works to eliminate the dead fat cells naturally, the same way it eliminates any other dead cell; through the body’s waste removal systems: urine and stools. Following the procedure, the vast majority of patients experience minimal discomfort.
However, the body is healing over the next several days, so some minor discomfort may be associated with it. Some people’s bodies react differently than others. Some patients have reported:
– Tenderness to the touch
– A deep itch sensation
– Minor numbness
These are all standard following the procedure as the skin in the treated area is waking back up after being frozen for an hour. It is similar to the sensation of how hands feel after coming in from the cold. It is, however, important to remember that everyone has different pain tolerances; what one person considers uncomfortable might not even register to someone else. It depends on the person.
There are some rare side effects where patients experienced extended pain, however these are rare exceptions and more so signify one person’s negative reaction. If experiencing intense side effects or side effects that last longer than two weeks, talk to a doctor right away.
After CoolSculpting, fat cells are converted into waste within the body; because of this, the body’s lymphatic system naturally eliminates the dead fat cells. This process is gradual, natural, and safe. Over the next several weeks to months following the procedure, patients will likely see the results of their CoolSculpting treatment gradually appear. The elimination of the frozen fat cells is not noticeable or uncomfortable, aside from these visible differences.
Immediately After the CoolSculpting Procedure: After the procedure, the following symptoms may occur:
– Swelling & bloating
– Localized bruising
– Mild to moderate pain
These symptoms are normal and will resolve on their own within a few days. They are caused by prolonged suction; they are also caused by exposure to cold.
3-5 Days after the CoolSculpting Procedure: In some cases, the side effects of CoolSculpting start 3-5 days after the procedure, and can last for as long as a week. Symptoms are generally mild and do not require time off from work or normal activities, nor does it take medication to manage. Symptoms can include:
– Mild pain
– Mild bruising
– Temporary numbness
The most common side effects experienced after CoolSculpting are numbness and pain; sometimes referred to as ‘fat freezing side effects,’ they are generally mild and short-lasting.
2-6 Weeks after the CoolSculpting Procedure: CoolSculpting can cause side effects last for 2-6 weeks after the procedure; this is normal and is related to the cold temperatures associated with freezing fat cells:
– Diarrhea or loose stools
These symptoms are temporary and will subside. Diarrhea/loose stools are a sign that dead fat cells are being eliminated by the body.
Water retention after CoolSculpting is a normal part of the healing process and is due to inflammation in the body. Inflammation is how the body responds to damage, and is essential in the healing process.
